Director, Sales

Customer.io is a customer engagement platform used by thousands of companies to send targeted email, SMS, push, and in-app messages based on real-time behavioral data. The company is hiring a Director of Sales (Americas) to lead and scale a high-performing team of Account Executives focused on mid-market and early enterprise accounts, drive outbound-led pipeline, and partner cross-functionally to deliver measurable customer outcomes and regional revenue growth.

Skills

  • Proven SaaS sales leadership and people management experience
  • Expertise in outbound prospecting and pipeline generation
  • Strong coaching skills for discovery, consultative selling and solution design
  • Data-driven forecasting and operational rigor
  • Familiarity with CRM and sales ops (e.g., Salesforce) and sales frameworks (MEDDICC, SPIN, Challenger)
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Hire, coach, and scale a team of Account Executives focused on mid-market and early enterprise accounts across the Americas.
  • Drive and oversee outbound pipeline generation; ensure majority of pipeline is created through proactive prospecting.
  • Coach teams on consultative discovery, solution/value-based selling, and strategic selling frameworks (e.g., MEDDICC, Challenger, SPIN).
  • Develop and execute territory and coverage plans to create healthy pipeline and sustained growth.
  • Forecast accurately and provide leadership with clear visibility into pipeline health and deal progress.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, SDRs, Partnerships, Product, and Customer Success to maximize GTM impact.
  • Lead deal strategy and assist in closing key opportunities when necessary; ensure consistent deal progression and win rates.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred but not required
