What We Need

We’re hiring an Applicant Journey Specialist to own the mid- and bottom of funnel—ensuring students move from “interested” to “signed with an employer.” This role is critical to Clasp’s mission of connecting learners to meaningful work. You’ll be the “closer,” responsible for driving applications forward, screening for quality, and keeping students engaged until they start with an employer partner.

You’ll work hand-in-hand with our BDR team (who generate school partnerships and top-of-funnel interest) and Partner Success (who manage employer accounts) to ensure no applicant falls through the cracks. You’ll also lead community engagement to build a strong student experience that supports long-term retention.

What You’ll Do

  • Follow up with students who’ve expressed interest to drive completed applications and employer matches.

  • Source additional candidates through tools like LinkedIn Recruiter and student databases, especially for high-need roles.

  • Conduct light quality screens to ensure candidates align with employer needs.

  • Address objections, provide clarity, and motivate students to complete the process.

  • Track and report conversion performance by role type, school, and employer partner.

  • Identify early warning signs (e.g., stagnant candidates, drop-offs) and act quickly.

  • Collaborate with Partner Success to press on stuck candidates and share funnel insights.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for signed students from match to start date.

  • Develop structured touchpoints (emails, group sessions, virtual office hours) to maintain engagement.

  • Build small community groups by role type to foster connection and reduce attrition.

  • Attend student-facing events (with BDRs) to convert interest into completed applications.

  • Collect student feedback systematically and use insights to improve employer messaging and internal playbooks.

  • Partner with Marketing to spotlight student voices and create content that inspires new applicants.

What You’ll Need

  • 3–5 years of experience in agency recruiting, admissions, or sales.

  • Strong closer skills — ability to build trust, handle objections, and move students to decision.

  • Experience sourcing candidates (LinkedIn Recruiter, Handshake, etc.) preferred.

  • Comfortable managing high-volume outreach across channels (email, phone, text, virtual).

  • Data-driven and organized — skilled in tracking metrics and identifying trends.

  • Energetic and empathetic — able to authentically connect with students and sustain motivation.
