Sales Development Representative - job 1 of 4

Benchling provides a modern R&D Cloud used by leading biotech companies to accelerate discovery and development. They are seeking a motivated Sales Development Representative with a life sciences background who is eager to prospect, qualify inbound leads, and build pipeline for Account Executives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Skills

  • Cold calling and outbound prospecting
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM
  • Ability to research and identify key decision makers
  • Comfort qualifying scientific fit and technical conversations
  • Organizational skills and disciplined follow-up

Responsibilities

  • Qualify inbound requests and marketing-qualified leads via phone and email for scientific fit
  • Create strong first impressions with prospects and build pipeline for Account Executives
  • Research target companies and identify decision makers using prospecting tools
  • Organize, prioritize, and track leads and performance in Salesforce
  • Develop tailored outreach and pitches for target accounts and personas
  • Collaborate with field marketing and sales on events, tradeshows, and follow-up
  • Support outbound prospecting activities including cold calling and email cadences

Education

  • Undergraduate degree in life sciences (molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering) required
  • Postgraduate study welcomed but not required
