Job Description:

The Sales Executive, Vertical Form Fill Seal is responsible for growing BW Flexible Systems business in assigned territories and developing and implementing business strategies that continue to expand the client base and foster customer loyalty. The Sales Executive creates and implements both short- and long-term sales objectives and strategies that will meet the needs of the customer, increase market share, increase machinery orders and maximize product servicing. This is accomplished by working within the global corporate structure of BW Flexible Systems, the Barry-Wehmiller Packaging Platform Group, and with customers in the region. The Sales Executive also works with the sales leadership team to research markets and establish strategic directions for growing sales with named key accounts in target industries within North America. The Sales Executive must reside within the territory of SoCal, NV, UT or CO.

Job Responsibilities

  • Secure new machinery orders for BW Flexible Systems machinery, feed systems, and turn-key integrated packaging line projects that meet or exceed assigned quota

  • Maintain contact with current and potential customers by building strong relationships and supplying product information to increase the likelihood of future sales orders

  • Mine for regional, client and industry information, analyze industry and client specific data and create and execute account specific strategies and tactics.

  • Provide detailed information regarding customer requirements, specifications, applications, etc. so accurate and timely sales proposals are produced for the customer when requested

  • Keep abreast of competitive and customer activity along with customer needs, and communicate information to the appropriate individuals within the company, so strategic decisions can be made to increase the company’s competitive edge in the marketplace

  • Assists in the resolution of customer claims and ensures resolution of customer complaints following department policy 

  • Support and actively utilize CRM software to maintain accurate records of all contacts, activity reports, opportunities and competitive information for prospects, customers, and competitors

  • Develop and demonstrate a working knowledge of the relevant finance mechanisms for conducting business in the region.

  • Promote the availability of company services (such as spare parts, training and field service) along with capabilities in other areas of the Barry-Wehmiller companies to customers to increase sales

  • Facilitates product demonstrations and assists in identifying and qualifying opportunities 

  • Effectively makes recommendations concerning market trends, competitive products and pricing 

  • Maintain records and reports regarding all phases of activities as required

  • Accurately forecast quarterly sales activity and revenue achievement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred), or high school diploma/GED with minimum seven years related sales experience

  • Minimum of five years of business to business sales experience with capital equipment or packaging industry related items

  • Solid knowledge of and experience with various types of packaging machinery and systems used in the food and consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries

  • Demonstrated track record of sales success (achievements, rankings, stats)

  • Experience selling into the packaging industry; or experience selling capital equipment

  • Technical or sales experience with complex feed systems and/or packaging machinery

  • Key account management experience with major consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies

  • Experience in packaging machinery wholesale business model working with distributors, resellers, agents, and lead finders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain and build customer relationships

  • Goal oriented and driven to become an impactful contributor to the business

  • Excellent negotiator with the ability to persuasively articulate a value offering

  • Ability to interface with a variety of plant personnel from different disciplines

  • Ability to qualify a project’s viability

  • Proactive, driven, motivated with ability to execute sales strategies

  • Proficient with MS Office Products, CRM packages, AutoCAD viewer, etc.

Other:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Must reside in assigned territory (Western US) within close proximity to airport

  • Ability to travel extensively through a multi-state territory

  • May require occasional overseas, international travel

The compensation for this role will consist of a competitive base salary between $85,000-$100,000k plus high earning potential in uncapped commissions in addition to a robust benefits package
