Skills
- Hands-on harness design for rugged commercial, industrial, aerospace, or military applications
- Experience with harness manufacturers and production processes
- Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, RS422, RS232, and MIL-STD/1553 interfaces
- Knowledge of applicable harness standards and MIL-STD requirements
- Ability to apply SWaP considerations for power, network, and communications
- Experience reading and producing wire block interconnect and wiring diagrams
- Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills
- Eligibility for U.S. security clearance
Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and integrate electrical harness systems and represent the harness discipline on projects
- Create harness system block diagrams and detailed wire diagrams for production release
- Select and procure connectors, contacts, back-shells, wire, shielding, and cable constructions to meet environmental requirements
- Develop assembly instructions, test procedures, and production formboard drawings
- Participate in design reviews and provide cross-functional input to resolve issues
- Coordinate with harness manufacturers to ensure high-quality, high-reliability production
- Support multiple concurrent projects across development and deployed hardware
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
