Program Chief Engineer
Skills
- Deep knowledge of satellite system architectures and ground system design
- Experience architecting complex software systems and deriving/prioritizing requirements
- Familiarity with software lifecycle, DevOps practices, agile development and toolchains (JIRA, Git)
- Ability to design Software APIs, system integrations and data models
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional and customer-facing interactions
- Data analysis, scripting, modeling and statistical problem solving
Responsibilities
- Own technical performance and effective utilization of engineering resources for a large, complex development program
- Collaborate with Program Management, Functional Leadership, product teams and customer stakeholders to align program objectives
- Design, develop and maintain program architecture across satellites, ground subsystems, mission planning, image processing and customer interfaces
- Translate functional requirements into engineering specifications and evaluate system interactions and impact of changes
- Drive data-driven decision-making using program metrics and action plans
- Develop roadmaps for system capabilities and ensure integration across space and ground subsystems
- Conduct data analysis, modeling and simulation to identify patterns and propose technical solutions
- Lead evaluation and recommendation of capabilities, products and requirements to meet customer and business needs
- Prepare and ensure readiness, accuracy and completeness of program milestones
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Master’s degree in engineering preferred
