Skills
- Deep knowledge of satellite ground system architectures and remote sensing workflows
- Experience architecting complex software systems and APIs
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices, agile processes, and development toolchains (JIRA, Git)
- Experience defining Concepts of Operations, functional and performance requirements
- Proven ability to decompose complex systems and communicate architectural tradeoffs to diverse stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end ground segment architecture including mission planning, ground hardware, image processing, and computer vision components
- Provide an architectural framework for development, maintenance, and enhancement of ground systems
- Capture and translate functional, performance, and operational requirements into engineering specifications
- Evaluate system interactions and assess impacts of changes or new integrations
- Create and maintain accurate architecture documentation and Concepts of Operations
- Collaborate with developers, product, and engineering teams to align roadmaps and ensure capability integration across space and ground subsystems
- Perform data analysis, modeling, and simulation to identify patterns and propose technical solutions
- Lead evaluation and recommendation of cost-effective capabilities, products, and requirements to meet business and customer needs
- Engage with business managers, customers, and external partners to resolve technical challenges and deliver solutions
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical, computer engineering or related field or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree in engineering preferred
