As the Senior Director of Global Solutions Engineering, you will be a critical member of the sales leadership team, reporting directly to the VP of Global Sales. This isn't just a support function; you will be the strategic partner to the sales organization, responsible for architecting a world-class technical sales function that directly accelerates revenue, increases deal velocity, and improves win rates. You will lead a global organization of managers and individual contributors, shaping the strategy, methodology, and culture that makes the Solutions Engineering team a competitive differentiator and a core driver of our sales success.
What to Expect:
Drive Sales Strategy & Execution: Working directly for the SVP of Sales and alongside other GTM leaders to design and execute the global GTM strategy. You will own the technical sales motion, ensuring it is perfectly aligned with our revenue goals.
Architect a World-Class SE Organization: Build, lead, and mentor a global team of Solutions Engineering managers and their teams. You will be responsible for scaling the organization across multiple segments and regions, ensuring we have the right people and processes to win complex, high-value deals.
Instrument a Winning Methodology: Take full ownership of how our sales methodology (MEDDPPICC) is implemented within the technical sales process. You will be responsible for creating the frameworks and processes that enable your team to effectively uncover pain, articulate value, and secure the technical win.
Act as an Executive Sponsor: Engage directly with C-level executives at our most strategic customers and partners, acting as the executive sponsor to build trust and unblock critical deals.
Build the Engine for Scale: Develop and manage the operational engine for the SE organization, including capacity planning, performance analytics, budget management, and defining the rules of engagement to maximize sales productivity.
Serve as the Voice of the Field: Act as the primary liaison between the sales organization and the Product/Engineering leadership. You will synthesize real-world customer feedback to directly influence product strategy and ensure our roadmap aligns with market demands.
Collaborate with our Product, Marketing, and CX teams to manage cross-functional projects, feature releases, and more to allow our front line managers to more effectively focus on coaching their respective teams.
Work with our Partnerships team to support our Channel Partner Program.
What we're looking for:

Domain Expertise: A strong background in cybersecurity, identity, or related enterprise security software is highly desirable. You must be able to command the respect of C-level technical and business audiences.
Executive Presence: World-class communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across the C-suite, GTM, and Product organizations.
Operational Excellence: Strong business and financial acumen, with experience managing departmental budgets, creating data-driven strategies, and linking technical initiatives to financial outcomes.

We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission. We also understand that thinking critically about AI in its current forms will help us create better solutions for our customers and ourselves with its future forms, which will help us continue to close the gap between security and privacy and achieve our mission. We want team members at all levels to take the approach of actively learning AI best practices, identifying opportunities to apply AI in meaningful ways, and driving innovative solutions in their daily work. Embracing the future of AI isn't just encouraged at 1Password—it's an essential part of how we will be successful at 1Password.
Our approach to work
We recognize the power of both in person collaboration and remote work. Some roles are designated as remote-first, with an expectation that individuals work from their homes majority of the time, while others are designated as in-office roles, with an expectation of being on-site on a regular basis. We recognize that certain roles benefit from regular, in-person connection to support collaboration, team cohesion, and customer engagement.
For all roles, occasional travel may be required. This includes things like: department-wide offsites, quarterly department meetings and periodic customer events. These events are typically held in varying locations across Canada, USA and/or EMEA. In leadership roles, you can expect to travel once per month on average.
Note: All go-to market roles will have an in-person onboarding in Toronto.
