Vice President of Solutions, Financial Services

As the Vice President of Solutions for the Financial Services (FS) vertical, you will lead the global strategy, innovation, and execution of Workiva’s solutions across the Banking, Insurance, and Asset Management sectors. You bring deep domain expertise in financial services, experience in enterprise B2B SaaS, and a strong track record of engaging directly with customers, partners, and advisory firms to achieve business growth goals and customer success.

This role is responsible for growing and operationalizing vertical-specific solutions aligned with regulatory compliance, financial reporting, sustainability, and risk transformation initiatives. As a global leader, you will engage externally with customers and partners in the market and collaborate across matrixed teams to scale adoption and deliver value for financial institutions and their Office of the CFO.  You are responsible for the commercial success of Workiva’s Financial Services vertical.

Key responsibilities include: strategy, innovation, growth, regulatory alignment, and execution.

What You’ll Do

Leadership and Solution Expansion

  • Lead Workiva’s global Financial Services vertical strategy across Banking, Insurance, and Asset Management, shaping solutions that address critical industry challenges including regulatory compliance, financial and sustainability reporting, governance and risk.
  • Develop and execute quarterly, annual, and multi-year business plans aligned with corporate strategy, vertical opportunity, revenue goals and customer success.
  • Define and maintain a vertical-specific solution roadmap in collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Marketing, with clear alignment to financial services customer needs.
  • Align investment prioritization across GTM, product, services, and partner functions to maximize vertical growth.
  • Act as an internal and external evangelist for Workiva’s Financial Services solutions, speaking at industry events, providing thought leadership, and engaging in strategic client conversations.
  • Ensure vertical-specific business KPIs are defined, measured, and used to continuously improve performance and inform decision-making.

Customer and Partner Engagement

  • Serve as the market-facing executive for the Financial Services vertical, regularly engaging with global customers, partners, and advisory firms to understand emerging needs and shape value-driven solutions.
  • Build trusted relationships with C-level stakeholders, particularly within the Office of the CFO, Risk, Compliance, and Finance Transformation functions.
  • Lead strategic co-selling and joint value initiatives with key partners, including technology vendors, consulting/advisory firms, and implementation partners.
  • As part of the cross-functional team lead targeted programs that expand Workiva’s presence and relevance in global financial hubs across North America, Europe, and other key regions.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success to support client acquisition, expansion, and retention across the FS vertical.

Cross-Functional Leadership and Influence

  • Operate as a senior leader in a matrixed global organization, collaborating across Product, Sales, Marketing, Services, and Partnerships to deliver aligned execution.
  • Lead a cross-functional team of core team leads and subject matter experts responsible for driving success across the FS solution lifecycle.
  • Contribute to corporate strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation as the voice of the Financial Services vertical.
  • Experience collaborating with product organizations to innovate and enhance financial services solutions that drive customer impact and growth.

What You’ll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15+ years of leadership experience in Financial Services, enterprise B2B SaaS, and technology consulting.
  • Proven expertise across Banking, Insurance, and Asset Management sectors, including global regulatory frameworks (e.g., SEC, EBA, ESMA, Basel III, Solvency II, CSRD).
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven success building, leading and executing GTM strategies for a B2B enterprise technology company within a Financial Services vertical.

  • Strong understanding of FS-specific solution areas such as regulatory reporting, sustainability compliance, risk management, and financial transformation.
  • Deep understanding of the digital transformation imperatives within financial services, including cloud adoption, RegTech, and AI.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership within global companies, adept at achieving outcomes and impacting stakeholders across various global and functional teams, without direct reporting lines.
  • MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
