About General Intuition
General Intuition is an AI research lab focused on spatial-temporal reasoning. It is built on the data strength of gaming clipping powerhouse Medal to train foundational AI models that understand time and space. The most powerful foundation models are trained on written words. But human intelligence far exceeds language, so truly intelligent machines must move from words to physical worlds, and acquire the capacity to perceive, anticipate, and improvise. We raised a seed round of $133M from General Catalyst and Khosla to build the leading AI lab for embodied agents.
General Intuition, Medal and Highlight are sister companies building artificial intelligence models and products based on screen capture across work and games. This role will work on building the talent function across the three brands.
The Role
We are seeking a senior tech recruiter to build the talent function for a new AI lab with us. In this role, you will focus on finding and winning great technical candidates to build our software engineering, machine learning and AI research teams. The ideal candidate requires deep technical full-cycle recruiting expertise, and the ability to elegantly manage the talent pipeline end-to-end, with a fine sense of craft for internal hiring alignment and external talent experience.
This is an in-person role in NYC.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic recruiting plans to identify, source, and hire highly qualified candidates, with a focus on software engineers, machine learning and AI research talent
Partner with hiring managers and interviewers to understand hiring needs, team matching, required qualifications - and continuously iterate on the interview process to make successful hires
Drive achievement of allocated hiring goals i.e., fill target positions in target timelines
Build the talent function with our head of talent: Design, implement and execute recruiting processes and programs while maintaining an inclusive and high talent bar (building out, owning and executing effective interview processes, targeted recruiting campaigns, connections with industry leaders, and long-term talent relationships/pools)
Collaborate with leadership to understand broader organizational needs and map out long-term talent acquisition strategies that balance priorities across all technical teams
Manage and optimize a stellar candidate experience along the hiring process, including contributing significantly to selling and winning the candidate
Enhance Medal, General Intuition and Highlight’s employer brands within the technical, research and science community, in particular in NYC
Innovate and automate: Use the latest technology incl. AI in general and specific recruiting tools to build and continuously improve, speed-up and reduce friction in our talent department incl., for example, innovating on data-driven sourcing techniques and automating the full pipeline
In-person talent-facing events: Identify, join and organize external and our own events to source leading talent, build our employer brand, network with industry leaders and build long-term relationships with key talent
Qualifications
Have 5+ years of experience in full life cycle recruiting supporting technical, AI and/or research teams incl. sourcing, candidate management, owning talent pipelines and process
Have a proven track record of scaling and building diverse and high-performing technical teams in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment, incl. track record of hitting hiring targets
Have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as a proactive mindset and ability to operate with autonomy
Thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and enjoy juggling multiple priorities
Possess strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and evaluate technical qualifications across engineering, data engineering and/or machine learning
Have a passion for AI's potential to positively impact the world - and proactively learn and stay up to date on current technologies and technical role requirements
Are experimental and are open to new, creative recruiting ideas, and/or have experience working with hiring managers who prefer non-traditional talent strategies
Bonus if you have experience with AI researchers and hiring talent that work on generative AI including video AI, world models or spatial-temporal agents
