OpenObserve is seeking a dynamic Senior Sales Engineer to bridge the gap between our cutting-edge observability platform and customer success. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing skills to drive both pre-sales and post-sales success. You'll work closely with our sales team to architect tailored observability solutions and guide customers through implementation and optimization of their monitoring infrastructure.
Partner with sales teams to understand customer requirements and technical challenges
Conduct technical discovery sessions to assess current observability maturity and infrastructure
Design and present comprehensive observability architectures tailored to customer environments
Lead technical demos, proof-of-concepts, and pilot implementations
Address technical objections and provide expert guidance during the sales process
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to communicate customer feedback and requirements
Guide customers through onboarding and implementation of OpenObserve
Develop detailed technical implementation plans and migration strategies
Provide architectural guidance for optimal data ingestion, storage, and visualization patterns
Conduct technical workshops and training sessions for customer teams
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimize performance
Ensure successful adoption and value realization from OpenObserve platform
Serve as trusted technical advisor throughout the customer lifecycle
Build strong relationships with customer technical teams and stakeholders
Identify expansion opportunities and additional use cases
Advocate for customer needs internally and influence product roadmap
Document best practices and create reusable implementation frameworks
5+ years of experience in solution architecture, sales engineering, or customer-facing technical roles
Deep understanding of observability, monitoring, and logging ecosystems
Hands-on implementation experience with OpenObserve platform including data ingestion, querying, and dashboard creation
Practical experience implementing OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing, metrics collection, and observability instrumentation
Production-level experience with Prometheus including configuration, alerting rules, and integration patterns
Hands-on experience with complementary observability tools (Grafana, ELK Stack, Jaeger, Zipkin, etc.)
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
Experience with distributed systems, microservices architectures, and DevOps practices
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools
Proven track record in technical sales support or customer success roles
Excellent presentation and communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts
Experience working with enterprise customers and understanding their operational challenges
Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple customer engagements
Customer-centric mindset with focus on driving value and positive outcomes
Advanced expertise in OpenObserve deployment patterns and optimization techniques
Deep experience with OpenTelemetry SDKs across multiple programming languages and frameworks
Expert-level Prometheus configuration including federation, high-availability setups, and performance tuning
Background in SaaS or open-source software companies
Previous experience in forward deployment or implementation roles
Familiarity with compliance requirements (SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA) in enterprise environments
Experience with time-series databases and high-scale data processing
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
