Team Lead, Customer Success

StarRez, a global leader in student housing software, recently integrated College Pads to expand support for off-campus student housing. We are seeking a Team Lead, Customer Success to coach a small Customer Success team while managing a modest book of business to drive onboarding success, retention, and account growth for higher-education customers.

Skills

  • Proven customer-facing experience with strong verbal and written communication
  • Coaching and people leadership skills including mentoring and performance management
  • CRM proficiency (Salesforce or similar) and comfort using metrics to guide decisions
  • Strong problem-solving, issue management, and conflict resolution capabilities
  • Ability to balance customer advocacy with company goals and commercial outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Customer Success Managers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and career development
  • Manage a small book of accounts, driving onboarding success and 30/60/90-day engagement plans
  • Collaborate with Sales and Support to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent client experience
  • Monitor and report on team KPIs, client engagement trends, renewal readiness, and risk
  • Improve outreach cadences, onboarding workflows, and playbooks for scalable success
  • Identify renewal risks and partnership growth opportunities and support mitigation actions
  • Partner cross-functionally to optimize CRM usage, product feedback loops, and onboarding processes

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Relevant professional training or certifications (preferred but not required)
