Sales Director, Destinations West (California/Hawaii)

Sojern is a travel-focused digital marketing company that leverages machine learning and real-time traveler data to help travel marketers reach and convert travelers. The Sales Director, Destinations West will lead programmatic advertising sales across California and Hawaii, owning go-to-market strategy, new business development, account growth, and cross-functional collaboration to hit ambitious quarterly targets.

Skills

  • Deep knowledge of the programmatic advertising ecosystem and digital media landscape.
  • Proven experience in strategic account development and large portfolio management.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and executive-level communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles autonomously.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce for forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Comfort using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office for collaboration and reporting.
  • Experience building go-to-market plans and responding to RFPs.
  • Willingness to travel regularly (30–50%) and work across time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead go-to-market strategies to acquire and grow strategic tourism, attraction, and airport accounts in the assigned region.
  • Manage a large portfolio of clients independently, driving the full sales cycle from outreach to negotiation and close.
  • Develop and expand a high-value advertising book focused on destinations, co-ops, attractions, and airports.
  • Create and deliver persuasive, data-driven presentations that communicate Sojern’s value proposition.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, account management, and product to build and scale client programs.
  • Maintain accurate activity tracking and forecasting in Salesforce.
  • Identify expansion opportunities and new business segments and drive co-op and partnership development.
  • Meet and exceed quarterly sales targets in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Relevant industry training or certifications in digital advertising or programmatic a plus.
