Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test electromechanical space systems, mechanisms, and test equipment
- Improve and automate test processes and evaluation methods for mechanism functionality
- Design and implement data-acquisition and control systems; integrate sensors such as IMUs, encoders, load cells, and motors
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet requirements and ensure product functionality
- Create detailed technical documentation describing functionality, operation, and performance
- Manage or support project lifecycle tasks to ensure timely delivery
- Identify and implement quality and process improvements
- Analyze system performance using classical and computational methods; analyze datasets for trends and anomalies
- Occasional travel to collaborate with other Rocket Lab teams
Education
- Bachelor of Science in an engineering field (required)
- Master's degree in a related engineering field (preferred)
