- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM
- 1+ years mechanical design or hands-on manufacturing experience (internships/projects applicable)
- Experience with machining, welding, fastening, drilling, and related metalworking processes
- Knowledge of non-destructive testing/evaluation methods
- CAD and drawing experience (NX/Teamcenter a plus) and GD&T proficiency
- Root-cause analysis and process development experience
- Strong verbal and written communication and cross-functional collaboration
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day production of Merlin engine sub-assemblies and engine integration across machining, welding, forming, pressure testing, cleaning, NDT, heat treatment, and assembly
- Analyze recurring manufacturing discrepancies, lead root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions with multidisciplinary teams
- Develop and qualify new manufacturing processes and tools to reduce non-conformances and lower processing costs
- Provide manufacturing process subject-matter expertise and input into hardware design to improve producibility
- Coordinate with production, machining, maintenance, quality, and design engineering to ensure timely delivery of quality hardware
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a STEM discipline (required)
- Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, materials, or industrial engineering (preferred)
