Manufacturing Engineer, Materials Management (Starlink)
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- 1+ years of manufacturing experience (professional or project-based)
- Experience with BOM and EM management for production
- Familiarity with inventory automation, RFID, and vision systems
- Exposure to ERP, MRP, or MES systems (defining requirements preferred)
- Ability to design tooling for high-volume manufacturing
- Experience working cross-functionally and managing vendor/supplier relationships
- Willingness to work extended hours and travel up to 10%
- Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements
Responsibilities
- Design and integrate interfaces between Materials Management and multiple production lines in partnership with Production Manufacturing Engineers
- Design and implement RFID and vision technologies for materials tracking and handling
- Plan and lead phase-in of inventory automation while minimizing disruption to production targets
- Manage Engineering Masters (EMs) and Manufacturing BOMs (mBOMs) for the Refurb Production Line
- Ensure Materials Management systems meet high-volume throughput, cost, and quality requirements
- Lead facilities planning, floor layout, headcount estimates, and material flow definition
- Identify hardware requirements and integrate hardware into Materials Management processes
- Evaluate automation opportunities, develop requirements, and assess ROI for implementations
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to develop and deploy Materials Management solutions
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (required)
- Relevant project or professional manufacturing experience
