- Hands-on manufacturing experience in a production environment
- Experience with composite manufacturing processes (prepreg, out-of-autoclave, adhesives)
- Familiarity with non-destructive evaluation and structural test procedures
- Ability to write clear work instructions and manufacturing procedures
- Experience with DFMA, tooling, and 3D CAD for mechanical components
- Capacity to lead root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation
Responsibilities
- Develop, qualify, and refine composite manufacturing processes for Dragon 2 structures
- Define and manage build and inspection processes across lamination, machining, testing, and final assembly
- Collaborate with design engineers to evaluate and improve designs for manufacturability
- Resolve non-conformances and lead root-cause corrective actions with quality teams
- Plan and execute capital equipment, tooling, and floor layout upgrades for volume production
- Create capacity models, product flow analyses, and production schedules to meet manifest
- Support validation testing and non-destructive evaluation of structural composites
- Facilitate transition of composite hardware from R&D into rate manufacturing while reducing cost
Education
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Master's degree in mechanical, materials, or aerospace engineering (preferred)
