Value Engineering Principal

Overview

PowerSchool is seeking a forward-thinking Value Engineering Principal to help reimagine how we deliver value to our customers through the lens of a GTM Engineer. This role is ideal for a seasoned value or sales engineering leader or principal-level practitioner who thrives at the intersection of strategy, technology, and customer impact.   You will play a pivotal role in shaping our value engineering practice, driving scalable value realization programs, and enabling our go-to-market teams with AI-powered, signal-based value and selling strategies. This is a high-impact role with a clear path to regional leadership as we align our team structure with PowerSchool’s GVP regions (East, Central, West). 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic value engagements with enterprise or strategic customers and prospects, aligning business outcomes with PowerSchool’s extensive platform capabilities.
  • Operationalize 1P and 3P signals to drive precision in sales motions and improve both win and attach rates.
  • Design and implement scalable value realization frameworks that demonstrate ROI across the customer lifecycle.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Service and Sales to embed value strategies into our playbooks and POVs.
  • Mentor and develop a team of value engineers. Collaborate with international teams to extend value engineering practices globally.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in value engineering, sales engineering, or GTM strategy roles. 
  • Proven track record of leading strategic engagements and influencing enterprise or strategic deals. 
  • Deep understanding of GTM AI, product telemetry, and firmographic data as drivers of value. 
  • Experience building or scaling value realization programs across large customer bases. 
  • Strong executive presence and ability to communicate complex value propositions clearly. 
  • Passion for innovation, experimentation, and rethinking traditional value engineering models. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in enterprise SaaS, edtech, or public sector technology. 
  • Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Gainsight, DOMO, Tableau, Clari, Salesloft, Gong, or similar GTM platforms. 
  • MBA or equivalent experience in business strategy, economics, or technical fields.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $135,700 - $177,800 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; specific geographic location; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
