As an employee working within the Stabilization and Crisis Unit (SACU), you will be a part of a program that provides 24-hour residential care to Oregonians with intellectual/developmental disabilities, often with co-occurring mental health diagnoses, whose support needs exceed the supports offered or provided by other community-based residential programs. SACU provides development and support to assist individuals in safely transitioning back to their home community. We model positive attitudes while offering assistance with access to: health and medical supports, psychological services, emotional and behavioral support, educational supports. SACU staff also provide life skills training, recreational opportunities and community integration. SACU is dedicated to providing the support necessary to maintain the quality of life, achieve the highest possible level of independence and promote social opportunities, which benefit the individuals served and their communities.
We operate 18 residential group homes along the I-5 corridor from Portland to Eugene.
As an Assistant Site Manager, you will:
Support the management of the operation of a three, four, or five bed home.
Supervise direct care and behavioral support staff.
Lead the development/implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISP) for everyone.
Coordinate services with consultants and other service providers, and serve as liaison with parents, guardians, neighbors, and county case managers.
Ensure the home is operated per the Comprehensive 24-hour Residential Services for Children and Adults with Developmental Disabilities OAR (Chapter 411, Division 325).
Ensure ISP for each individual and give input to the (ISP) process for each individual.
Ensure the health and well-being of individuals by following all doctor orders, nursing orders, and issuing medications per prescriptions.
A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
Three years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience.
OR
A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
We are looking for candidates with:
Experience supervising employees, including hiring or recommending hiring, training employees, assigning and reviewing work, providing employees with feedback on their performance, providing oversight of operations, and handling disciplinary problems and grievances.
Experience communicating clearly and cross culturally in writing, directly, or virtually.
Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals, family members, advocates, and guardians from varied and diverse backgrounds in situations involving complex issues and demanding deadlines.
Management experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness in a 24-hour residential setting or similar environment.
Experience working with licensing requirements and conducting quality assurance reviews.
Experience with general computer operation and proficient using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

You must have a valid license to drive, and you must have and maintain an acceptable driving record to transport individuals by state van or car.
Work environments include a 24-hour group home, community settings such as stores, restaurants, medical offices, shopping malls, etc., and sometimes in outdoor inclement weather settings.
Your work schedule will consist of working Saturday and Sunday with three additional days during the week. Your work schedule may vary depending on staff meetings, training, vacations, and providing support to any of three shifts as needed. The area manager will assign your work schedule based on operational needs. A typical base schedule may be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends and noon to 8 p.m. on schedule weekdays.
Your work location will vary amongst three homes located in Salem. You will travel between these homes as needed.
May require being flexible with work schedule changes for purposes of supporting meetings, individuals, and house needs.
Physical capability to interact with combative, unpredictable, argumentative, and aggressive individuals who may become a danger to themselves or others on a daily basis.
Physical capability to engage and maintain Oregon Intervention System (OIS) approved restraints for up to one hour as well as all other physical requirements of the OIS Standards of Physical Skills Training.
Frequent daily lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 75 pounds, e.g., transferring, positioning and moving individuals; moving furniture or appliances; yard maintenance equipment, etc.
Frequent daily squatting, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
Physical capability to work an additional part or whole shift to meet staffing requirements, as well as working any shift, including weekends and holidays.
Physical capability to transport individuals in a variety of vehicles, including wheelchair accessible vans, mini-vans, and standard size cars.
Physical capability to perform CPR/First Aid techniques to obtain certifications.
Physical capability to accompany individuals on hikes, walks, bicycles, swimming, and other physical activities.
Frequent exposure to bodily fluids and other biohazards.
Daily exposure to household cleaning agents (sometimes industrial strength).

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire, you will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Security’s I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States. First Aid/CPR Certification - Requiring you to complete compressions in a kneeling position.
Oregon Intervention System Certification (OIS) - Requiring you to physically hold an individual for safety while maintaining an approved restraint on clients which may involve quick movements, changes in physical positioning, and verbal communication with coworkers.
Medication Administration Certification - Requiring you to demonstrate competency in completing doctor's orders, appropriate passing of medications to clients, appropriate documentation, and appropriate procedures for emergencies.
