Unemployment Operations & Verifications Coordinator - job 1 of 2

Justworks is a PEO/HR platform that helps small and growing businesses manage HR, payroll, and benefits. The Unemployment Operations & Verifications Coordinator will support the Unemployment Insurance Claims Team by processing state inquiries and verifications, managing high mail volumes, handling SIDES submissions, auditing benefit charge statements, and coordinating across internal teams to ensure accurate, timely documentation flow.

Skills

  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat (redacting, editing, resizing, organizing, optimizing).
  • Comfortable using multiple systems and quickly learning new software.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong accuracy.
  • Prior mailroom or high-volume mail handling experience.

Responsibilities

  • Process child support, mortgage, wage audit, earnings and benefit verifications and other state department requests accurately and timely.
  • Manage heavy mail volumes: collect, scan, sort, file and ensure mail is uploaded and assigned to the correct workflows.
  • Collaborate with Senior Coordinator and cross-functional teams (Customer Success, Mailroom, Business Ops, Onboarding, Payment Tax) to support claims and registration teams.
  • Retrieve, organize, verify, and take action on documents from multiple state portals.
  • Coordinate outgoing and incoming mail to state agencies and other responsible parties.
  • Support pre-hearing requirements: submit documents, schedule witness prep, and complete hearing registrations.
  • Process unemployment claim-related documents through SIDES and other required formats.
  • Audit, verify, and protest unemployment benefit charge statements.
  • Triage documents and cases for efficient assignment and follow-up.
  • Communicate document status and requirements to internal stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • College coursework or associate/bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
