Senior Data Platform Engineer (Remote - North America)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer to design and scale the data management layer behind a high-growth, global trading and brokerage platform. This role involves building and optimizing pipelines that process hundreds of millions of daily events across financial transactions, customer data, API logs, and third-party systems. You will play a key role in ensuring data flows are reliable, low-latency, and scalable, supporting analytics, decision-making, and integrations across multiple business functions. This is a fully remote role within a collaborative, distributed engineering team where your expertise will directly shape the company’s data infrastructure and long-term success.

Accountabilities

• Design and implement scalable ETL and reverse ETL pipelines to deliver clean, reliable data to internal and external stakeholders.
• Build and maintain transformation layers that support repeatable integrations with BI tools across different business domains.
• Expand and optimize the evolving Data Lakehouse architecture to handle growing event volumes and complex data needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, product, and operations to address key data flow requirements.
• Ensure production systems run smoothly by monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving data-related issues.
• Contribute to data cataloging, monitoring, and alerting to uphold system reliability and observability.

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, including 2+ years building large-scale data platforms handling 100M+ events/day.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with production-level programming experience.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases and scalable transformation tools (e.g., dbt).
• Experience with cloud-native technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT workflows using tools like Airflow or Airbyte.
• Production experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka.
• Familiarity with infrastructure, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, storage, transactions, and query processing.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and deliver solutions aligned with evolving business needs.
