Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Reporting to the Sr. Engineering Manager, you will be a key technical contributor on the Cloud Platform team, helping build and evolve Included Health’s core cloud infrastructure and platform. Our Cloud Platform team underpins all of engineering, enabling teams to build, deploy, and scale services reliably and efficiently.


With a lean team and a growing footprint, we’re seeking a Senior Engineer who brings strong technical depth, a platform mindset, and the ability to drive meaningful infrastructure improvements through hands-on work and cross-team collaboration.


You’ll focus on strengthening our cloud foundation by improving scalability, observability, cost efficiency, and developer experience, while contributing to technical design discussions and supporting the growth of engineers around you. You’ll partner closely with other engineering teams to deliver high-impact platform capabilities that improve reliability and velocity across the organization.


You’ll measure success by improvements in system reliability, platform adoption, cost-to-serve, and developer productivity. This is a role where your work directly influences the stability, quality, and speed of the products we deliver to our members.


Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and evolve Included Health’s cloud infrastructure, driving improvements in scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
  • Contribute to cross-cutting infrastructure initiatives in areas such as containerization, observability, and data services.
  • Help modernize and standardize platform patterns to simplify development and deployment workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with peers and senior engineers on architectural decisions and technical designs.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers on the team, supporting strong engineering and operational practices.
  • Partner with product, data, and infrastructure stakeholders on initiatives such as AI platform enablement and data warehouse evolution.


Qualifications
  • 5+ years of strong software engineering fundamentals with meaningful experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP, Kubernetes, GitOps, Terraform (or other infrastructure-as-code frameworks), and modern observability tooling (Grafana, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, reliability engineering principles, and cost optimization practices.
  • Experience improving engineering workflows and operational maturity through tooling and process enhancements (CI/CD, monitoring, on-call, incident response, etc.).
  • Passion for building reliable, developer-friendly platforms that enable others to move faster.
  • Proficiency in one or more of Go, Python, or similar languages.6+ years of strong software engineering fundamentals with meaningful experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering.


The United States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-time position are:

Zone A: $149,450 - $211,100 + equity + benefits

Zone B: $164,395 - $$232,210 + equity + benefits

Zone C: $179,340 - $253,320 + equity + benefits

Zone D: $194,285 - $274,430 + equity + benefits


This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for candidates based on their respective Zone. Below is additional information on Included Health's commitment to maintaining transparent and equitable compensation practices across our distinct geographic zones.


Starting base salary for you will depend on several job-related factors, unique to each candidate, which may include education; training; skills; years and depth of experience; certifications and licensure; our needs; internal peer equity; organizational considerations; and understanding of geographic and market data. Compensation structures and ranges are tailored to each zone's unique market conditions to ensure that all employees receive fair and great compensation package based on their roles and locations.
