Staff Software Engineer, Electronic Trading
Skills
- Strong backend/full-stack development using Java and/or Kotlin
- Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS (or Azure/GCP) with focus on cost and scalability
- Domain experience in electronic trading, order management, asset management, or investment banking
- Familiarity with web front-end technologies (React, JavaScript, TypeScript) and full-stack collaboration
- Proven track record of architecting for high performance and high availability
- Knowledge of automated testing practices and developer automation
- Comfort with containerization and infrastructure-as-code (Docker, Terraform, ECS/Fargate, Kafka/MSK)
Responsibilities
- Architect and design high-performance, highly available backend systems for electronic trading
- Deliver full lifecycle features from requirements and design through implementation and testing
- Influence and evolve a modern tech stack (frontend and cloud backend) and developer automation
- Coach, mentor, and grow product engineering teams to deliver secure, production-grade applications
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to drive technical strategy and tradeoffs
- Implement automated testing and CI/CD practices to ensure high code quality and reliability
- Balance short-term deliverables with long-term architectural vision
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline
- Relevant equivalent professional experience considered
