Regional Sales Manager - Northeast US

About the Role:


As the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for GEA’s pharmaceutical technologies, you’ll play a key role in driving new business and nurturing existing customer relationships. The technologies under your purview include Liquid Processing, Lyophilization, Spray Drying, Continuous Manufacturing, Fluid Bed Processing, Potent Material Containment, and Tablet Presses. You’ll interact with pharmaceutical executives, production managers, engineers, scientists, and purchasing teams, acting as a trusted advisor in a consultative sales capacity. Your focus will be on identifying opportunities, gathering market intelligence, and managing pre-sale information flow between GEA North America, GEA’s Core Technology Centers in Europe, and customers.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Customer Engagement: Build relationships with new and existing clients through both online and in-person interactions.
  • Solution Selling: Understand customer needs and present tailored GEA solutions.
  • Technology Expertise: Develop knowledge of GEA’s pharmaceutical technologies, including granulation, compression, continuous OSD, and more.
  • Full Sales Cycle Management: Drive the process from inquiry to order placement.
  • Collaboration: Work with service and spare parts teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Market Intelligence: Gather insights on competition, pricing, and industry projects.
  • Industry Presence: Attend trade shows, meetings, and networking events.
  • Negotiation: Handle contracts, payment terms, and conditions of sale.
  • CRM Management: Keep accurate records using SAP C4C CRM.


Requirements:


  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Travel: 40-60% travel within the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico; occasional international travel.
  • Documentation: Valid passport and driver’s license required.
  • Background Checks & Drug Screening: Must meet company requirements.


Profile & Qualifications:


  • Education: Four-year degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in capital equipment sales or business development, preferably in the pharmaceutical or process industries.
  • Sales Skills: Strong planning, forecasting, and negotiation abilities.
  • Technical Communication: Ability to convey complex technical concepts in clear, concise English.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmaceutical processing equipment and standards like cGMP, ISPE, and USP.
  • Work Style: Self-motivated, team-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Proven ability to deliver accurate, timely feedback.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office and CRM software (SAP CRM preferred).


Compensation:


The base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on location, experience, and qualifications. Additional rewards may include a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards.
