Customer Account Manager - SMB

HackerRank is a developer-skilling and technical hiring platform trusted by leading technology companies. We are looking for an early-career Customer Account Manager to own a portfolio of SMB customers, drive adoption and renewals, and deliver an excellent customer experience while working closely with Sales, Product, and Support.

Skills

  • 1–3 years in a customer-facing SaaS or technology role (account management, CSM, SDR, or sales support)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with CRM tools and accurate data entry
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-focused mindset with curiosity to understand customer needs
  • Organized, resilient, and collaborative across teams

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of SMB customers and execute defined adoption and renewal playbooks
  • Conduct regular customer check-ins to ensure value realization and proactively address issues
  • Support standard renewal conversations and contract processes, escalating complex cases
  • Act as a strategic advisor to customers and internal teams to remove roadblocks and accelerate adoption
  • Identify basic expansion or usage opportunities and coordinate with senior team members
  • Maintain accurate customer records, renewal tracking, and activity logs in CRM
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Support for a consistent customer experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent practical experience
  • Relevant coursework or certifications in business, communication, or related fields considered a plus
