Commercial Account Executive - Mid Market, East

GitLab is a public open-core company delivering an AI-powered DevSecOps platform used by thousands of organizations. The Mid-Market Commercial Account Executive will own a territory in the US Northeast, driving new business, expansion, adoption, and retention across customers with ~100–1,999 employees while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and partners.

Skills

  • Proven SaaS sales experience with quota responsibility
  • Experience selling to development, DevOps, or engineering teams
  • Strong prospecting, pipeline-building, and territory management skills
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing abilities
  • Forecasting and CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Partner engagement and channel collaboration experience
  • Familiarity with Git, ALM, or software development tools preferred
  • Ability to travel regularly within the territory
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed quota while building and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Articulate GitLab’s value to mid-market prospects and customers in the US Northeast
  • Own and operate as the CEO of a territory: document buying criteria, next steps, and owners
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline through consistent prospecting and outreach
  • Prospect and close new business to expand territory revenue
  • Drive product adoption and minimize churn and contraction
  • Work with partners and the partner ecosystem to uncover and close opportunities
  • Create accurate quarterly forecasts and manage pipeline hygiene
  • Represent GitLab at events to network with current and prospective customers
  • Contribute lessons learned, wins/losses analysis, and sales handbook improvements
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Renewals, Sales Development, and technical teams
  • Be the voice of the customer by contributing product feedback to the public issue tracker
  • Apply MEDPICC and Command of the Message consistently on opportunities

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent practical sales experience accepted
  • Sales or industry certifications are a plus
