This role is responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution for their product portfolio ensuring alignment with Channel, Sales, and Digital plans. Translates strategy into actionable product plans, defines pricing and market segmentation, and drives demand generation in partnership with Channel teams to deliver on revenue and ROI goals.
Job Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development and execution of the overall strategy for the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) by bringing his or her product platform expertise to the full room view. Collaborate to ensure alignment with Channel, Sales, Digital/eBusiness strategic plans. Own top line, contribution margin and SG&A for his or her product platform.
Translate product platform strategy into product plans. Own their execution with Product Development. Partner with Channel to ensure Route-To-Market plans are aligned with product needs.
Define ‘where to play’ price segments across his or her product portfolio. Deliver revenue and contribution to meet P&L objectives.
Lead decisions around product promotion by defining demand generation plan and promotion guardrails. Partner with Channel to ensure promotional activity achieves ROI objectives.
Lead product development by defining and aligning the product roadmap, timing and resources. Collaborate with Global Product Development to ensure delivery of new product development and to ensure products developed drive our value proposition, unique selling proposition, price and margin.
Collaborate with Sales to drive the success of Joint Business Planning (JBP) by providing direction in the product platform strategy around customers to target and results to achieve. Attend relevant customer meetings as requested by Sales to enable the execution of JBP.
Partner with Channel to ensure alignment of channel and customer marketing programs with SBU objectives.
Collaborate with Global Brand Marketing (GBM) to ensure that brand message is aligned when leading promotions, pricing and positioning decisions.
Lead pricing decisions for the product platform, ensuring alignment across all platforms within the SBU so that the entire Room portfolio achieves revenue and margin contributions that achieve P&L objectives.
Partner with Innovation to ensure that research and projects are aligned with brand and SBU objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or a related field is required; MBA is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of marketing/product management experience is required. Prior consumer/durable goods experience is preferred.
Previous experience managing a team of direct reports with proven results, is required.
Experience managing P&L strongly preferred.
Strong demonstrated track record of performance and progression.
Demonstrated team player that is able to successfully influence and partner across a matrix organization.
Demonstrated problem-solving and prioritization ability
Strong presentation and communication skills
Ability to travel approximately 20-30%.

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $140,000 USD - $220,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
