Overview

This individual will be responsible for running our Dayton area facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an Operations Manager with Continuous Improvement experience who wishes to advance in his or her career by running a site.

Responsibilities

  • Hit key financial targets by leading Production in getting every order on the books out the door on time with efficient use of labor
    • Lead Scheduling in setting a production schedule that ensures 100% OTD
    • Lead Supervisors in executing to schedule, setting daily production targets by line, checking in with team daily to ensure we hit our targets, helping direct reports problem solve when faced with obstacles
    • Anticipate disruptions to delivery schedule and prevent them before they happen.
    • Collaborate with Customer Service to manage customer expectations.
    • End the month with no orders on the dock
  • Manufacture a Quality product
    • Check in with Quality daily team daily to remain apprised of Quality issues
    • Lead Production in implementing Corrective Actions and building Quality into Process
  • Drive continuous improvement activities, leading manufacturing engineers in improving efficiency of operations.
  • Project manage capital projects, ensuring projects are executed under budget and ahead of schedule
  • Model and drive strong leadership
    • Establish strong meeting and Gemba walk cadence to drive results
    • Drive strong communication on the floor through signage, shift talks and town halls; regularly report out SQD metrics
    • Set structured communication expectations for floor leadership
    • Approach every day with a strong servant leadership mentality – in the words of Simon Sinek, “leaders eat last”
    • Coach floor leaders to their highest potential
  • Supervise EHS in driving strong safety programming, ensuring prompt response to incidents and driving a culture of 0 LTA’s.
  • Supervise Facilities in maintenance and upkeep of location.
  • Supervise Maintenance in execution of PM’s.

  • 10+ years manufacturing experience, including Operations Management and Continuous Improvement
  • Strong project management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related discipline
  • 24 hour operation – availability to drop in on each shift at least once a month
