Enterprise Sales Engineer - New York

Chainguard provides guarded open source software to secure software supply chains and is seeking an experienced Enterprise Sales Engineer based in the New York area. The role partners closely with Sales to win new enterprise logos and expand existing accounts by owning technical evaluations, delivering demos and POCs, responding to RFP/RFIs, and collaborating with engineering to meet customer requirements.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Sales Engineer or Pre-Sales Engineer
  • Familiarity with MEDDPICC and/or Command of the Message sales frameworks
  • Experience selling into Enterprise and Mid-Market customers (3+ years)
  • Hands-on knowledge of container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Serverless)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Background in cloud security, container security, or application security
  • Strong presentation, demo, and POC delivery skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales to qualify opportunities, drive technical discussions, and win new customer logos
  • Own technical aspects of sales cycles including demos, POVs/POCs, RFP/RFI responses and technical proposals
  • Assess customer technical requirements and map Chainguard solutions to address unmet needs
  • Cultivate relationships with decision-makers and technical stakeholders across organizations
  • Coordinate with product and engineering teams to communicate feature requests and support custom evaluations
  • Represent the company at webinars, meetups, conferences and other marketing initiatives
  • Mentor and support peers on technical sales best practices and product positioning

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Relevant cloud/security certifications are a plus (e.g., CCSK, CISSP, AWS/GCP/Azure certs)
