Overview: The Academic and Industry Relations Manager is responsible for generating quality leads through strategic engagement with dental schools, residency programs, industry events, and academic partnerships and associations. This role assesses fit and readiness, and ensures effective handoffs to the Talent Acquisition team, playing a critical role in filling the top of the recruiting funnel and driving long-term pipeline growth.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the dental student academic recruitment strategy by planning, coordinating, and hosting recruitment events at dental schools and residency programs to generate and convert student leads.
Plan and attend trade shows and vendor fairs to identify and convert dental student leads and residents as part of a broader industry engagement strategy.
Coordinate and host dental school events, including prescreening candidates and forwarding top talent to the dentist recruitment team post events.
Collaborate within a pod structure, maintaining regular communication with the Talent Acquisition Manager and Talent Acquisition Strategist to deliver high-quality candidate leads and co-develop engagement strategies across both active and legacy pipelines.
Communicate recruitment strategy, market snapshots, and upcoming event insights to the pod regularly and to relevant leadership across the Talent Funnel.
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition partners, Operations, Aspen team dentists, and the dentist recruitment team to coordinate participation in recruitment events.
Frequently and consistently document candidate engagement in Phenom to provide visibility into candidate progress and nurture streams within your funnel.
Apply project management skills to plan, budget, execute, and deliver on individual and team initiatives using appropriate systems and tools.
Execute, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to recruitment activities and outcomes.
Prepare and deliver written and verbal communications across a variety of platforms to inform and influence candidates, internal teams, and field leadership.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of Aspen Dental Management, Inc.’s structure and its role as a support services provider for independently owned and operated practices.
Actively contribute to the growth and success of the Academic and Talent Acquisition teams by sharing insights, collaborating on strategy, and supporting key initiatives.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree is required.
Availability for overnight travel 50–75% of the time; remaining work is remote. Candidates should reside within the designated territory.
Must be a competent and self-motivated remote worker—able to lead, learn, strategize, and take full ownership of goals and territory.
Strong project ideation and execution skills—must be able to initiate and complete new projects independently.
Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences in various settings.
Experience using Phenom or similar recruiting systems is preferred.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000 + 20% Quarterly Performance based bonus
