Head of Business Development – Shelby Platform

Aptos is a people-first blockchain company; Shelby is its high-performance, developer-focused decentralized storage protocol built in collaboration with Jump Crypto. Shelby is seeking a Head of Business Development to define and execute GTM strategy, build strategic partnerships across AI, media, and enterprise verticals, and establish the commercial foundation and revenue motion for a zero-to-one protocol.

Skills

  • Proven track record originating and closing complex partnerships
  • Deep understanding of storage, blockchain, and adjacent infrastructure
  • Strong network across Web3, enterprise technology, and AI ecosystems
  • Go-to-market strategy and pipeline development
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management
  • Ability to operate in zero-to-one, early-stage environments

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute Shelby’s go-to-market and business development strategy across AI, media, enterprise, and developer segments.
  • Identify, negotiate, and close strategic partnerships with protocols, storage providers, enterprises, and ecosystem players.
  • Drive revenue and adoption by securing design partners, pilot customers, and lighthouse use cases.
  • Build and manage a pipeline balancing near-term commercial wins with long-term ecosystem growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing to incorporate commercial feedback into roadmap and positioning.
  • Lay the groundwork for a future BD/growth team and recruit early commercial talent.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • Advanced degree (MBA or similar) preferred but not required
  • Relevant industry certifications or continuous learning in blockchain/cloud are a plus
