Responsibilities
- Conduct supplier selection and onboarding using the approved supplier list for assigned products
- Partner with strategic suppliers on concept scoping, feature trade-offs, should-cost/clean-sheet models, and joint design development
- Simulate mechanical and electronics designs and translate outputs into supplier statements of work
- Drive development and consolidation of the manufacturing BOM with Quality & Manufacturing to enable flexible production ramp
- Manage CAPEX through New Product Introduction (NPI) and support production ramp planning
- Perform value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility
- Complete BOM risk assessments, identify alternate component sourcing, and manage component qualification ahead of production
- Reduce complexity through part commonality optimization and supplier/component rationalization
- Lead cost engineering activities to converge bottoms-up cost models with target product cost and maximize TCO across the lifecycle
- Manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and inflation-driven cost impacts
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or another technical field (required)
- Master's or advanced technical degree (preferred)
- Eligibility for U.S. Secret security clearance
