Senior Electrical Test Engineer
Skills
- Schematic capture and PCBA layout experience
- Proficiency scripting automation (Python, Matlab, Perl, Shell); LabVIEW a plus
- Instrument control experience (VISA, SCPI)
- Experience with hardware communication buses (USB, I2C, I2S, CSI, Ethernet, SPI, PCIe, HDMI, CAN)
- Understanding of memory hierarchy and validation strategies
- Familiarity with product release cycle from prototype to production
- Hands-on electrical engineering and test bench experience
- Data analysis and test result communication
Responsibilities
- Define and lead hardware qualification test plans for new products and features in collaboration with firmware, software, and hardware teams
- Develop test strategies that optimize safety, reliability, FMEA coverage, and schedule
- Design, execute, and iterate PCBA and electrical system level tests with hands-on bench work and rework as needed
- Analyze test data, communicate results clearly, and work with design engineers to resolve issues
- Design and implement automated test hardware systems for fast, repeatable testing
- Manage purchasing, build, integration, and commissioning of functional testers
- Develop test procedures and automation from component to system level
- Support board bring-up, bench validation, manufacturing test bring-up, yield improvement, and field failure analysis
- Apply measurement analysis techniques such as Gage R&R and Process Capability Analysis
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 8+ years experience designing functional test equipment and PCBAs
- Familiarity with lab safety protocols
