Responsibilities
- Own complex mechanical subsystems from concept through full-rate production for drone and propulsion products
- Gather requirements, run trade studies, and select optimal engineering solutions
- Perform hand calculations and FEA to develop, assess, and optimize designs
- Lead design reviews and obtain cross-disciplinary buy-in
- Build prototypes, define and execute hardware test plans, iterate designs, and document lessons learned
- Conduct root cause investigations for hardware failures in development and production
- Optimize designs for mass, manufacturability, cost, development speed, and operational needs
- Support hardware demonstrations with customers and travel to test sites and vendors as needed
Education
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated product ownership from concept to production
