Skills
- Deep knowledge of California environmental and climate policies and programs
- Experience preparing disclosures under GRI, SASB, TCFD, ISSB, and CDP
- Familiarity with mandatory reporting frameworks such as CSRD and California climate laws
- Proven GHG accounting and data management skills for Scopes 1–3
- Experience with supplier assessments and supply chain sustainability
- Hands-on familiarity with LCA methodology
- Strong written and verbal communication for leadership and regulatory engagement
- Project management and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Experience coordinating third-party validation and assurance
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain company GHG inventory and inventory management plan for Scopes 1, 2, and 3, including annual data collection and third-party validation
- Prepare and support external sustainability reporting for regulators, investors, and other stakeholders
- Conduct materiality assessments to prioritize key ESG issues
- Assess supplier sustainability performance and identify opportunities to influence supplier practices
- Support Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and provide sustainability input for proposals
- Develop and implement strategies for energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, emissions reductions, and circular economy initiatives
- Partner with operations, facilities, and senior leaders to implement resource conservation and environmental improvement projects
- Lead or support sustainability certifications, audits, and compliance activities
- Design and run employee engagement and communications programs to build participation in sustainability initiatives
Education
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
