As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., Amazon Lambda, Amazon S3, and Amazon EC2) directly with our ecosystem of systems integrators, consulting and technology partners. Your broad responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects; defining implementation architectures, responding to RFPs, developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform; and being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.
As a Solutions Architect on our team, you will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership while working with a world class sales and business development team. You will lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge with the AWS solution architect community. You will gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise architecture.

You will regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.
Key job responsibilities
Assisting Aerospace and Defense customers with cloud adoption and modernization to align specific technologies to business outcomes.
In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS
As a key member of the business development and sales team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform
Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS
Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community
Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and other reusable content
Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates
Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support

- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
- 10+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Bachelor's degree, or Cloud Technology Certification (such as Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional or Cloud DevOps Engineering)
- Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures
- Experience in a professional field or military
- Knowledge of cloud architecture
- Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as FISMA, FedRAMP, DoD SRG, CMMC, etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market.
