Human Resources Generalist
We are seeking a well-rounded, proactive, and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to manage and support key HR and payroll operations. The ideal candidate has a strong Payroll and Human Resources foundation, is comfortable navigating complex compliance requirements, and enjoys process improvement. Familiarity with systems such as Paychex Flex and Flock is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities● Maintain and routinely audit employee records and data across HR/payroll platforms● Manage system workflows for new hires, terminations, job changes, and other personnel actions● Process benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS and with vendors● Serve as a resource for employees regarding payroll, tax forms, and benefit deductions● Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including paperwork and system access● Document procedures and contribute to policy development and rollouts● Stay up to date on employment legislation and ensure timely updates to HR practices● Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and department managers to ensure data accuracy and policy alignment● Provide training and support for managers and staff on HR system usage● Support onboarding sessions and prepare orientation materials● Support goal setting and performance management processes by coordinating review cycles, tracking completion, and assisting with related tools and communications● Generate employment verification letters, process status change documentation, and perform other HR administrative tasks● Recommend improvements and automation opportunities in HR processes● Liaise with third-party vendors such as benefits brokers● Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for all employee types in conjunction with Paychex● Process wage garnishments, commissions, retroactive payments, and compensation adjustments, including merit increases, bonuses, and promotions in coordination with Finance and HR leadership● Assist with payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and coordination of year-end payroll processes, including W-2s, 941s, and ACA reporting● Monitor and validate timekeeping entries, including PTO, overtime, and break compliance, ensuring timely submission to Paychex for payroll processing● Address and resolve timekeeping discrepancies in collaboration with managersHuman Resources Generalist• Date Prepared: 20 May 2025 •Confidential & Proprietary Page 2● Educate staff on time and attendance policies and procedures● Partner with Finance to reconcile benefits invoices and ensure payroll deduction accuracy● Coordinate benefits-related updates with payroll processing cycles● Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor and payroll regulations (e.g., FLSA, state-specific tax laws)● Support internal and external audits (including payroll, benefits, workers’ comp)● Liaise with third-party vendors such as payroll processors and timekeeping platforms● Run and deliver standard and ad hoc payroll-related reports (e.g., pay analysis)
