AECOM is seeking a dynamic and experienced TxDOT Client Leader to drive business growth for Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This external-facing leader will represent AECOM with TxDOT and be responsible for business development, sales, and strategy across all divisions for this key client with a goal of winning new and repeat business for all of AECOM’s service offerings. This position is expected to begin immediately.
Job Summary/Responsibilities
The candidate will need to be a growth minded leader who can work collaboratively with other senior leaders in Gulf Coast (GC) Transportation and other Business Lines, and mentor staff in a fast pace setting to drive strategic planning, business development, sales & marketing, opportunity identification, capture management, and relationship building. The candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to listen to, understand, and meet client needs to serve as a trusted advisor; knowledge of the transportation planning, engineering, and construction industry; and develop knowledge of the company and be able to bring AECOM’s full suite of support services to meet TxDOT’s needs. The candidate must be able to communicate their ideas clearly and convincingly, verbally and visually to peers and senior leadership.
The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
Fully accountable for all business development activities with TxDOT.
Represent AECOM and serve a point of contact with TxDOT Leadership, working collaboratively with members of the TxDOT account team, Division Managers, project managers, GC growth lead and GC Regional Business Line Leader.
Review and understand AECOM’s obligations on current TxDOT contracts. Works with Regional Business Line Leader and operations team to facilitate successful project delivery, including rate negotiations strategy.
Manage the AECOM TxDOT Client Account Team. Set strategic direction to business development with TxDOT.
Regularly meet with staff from multiple levels of TxDOT to obtain feedback on AECOM’s performance, understand and serve needs, and proactively identify opportunities.
Position AECOM for pursuits and promote AECOM capabilities in front of the client.
Leads preparation of Client Account Plan, coach pursuit teams in the development of winning Opportunity Capture Plans and coordinate resources with Marketing Lead. May serve as capture manager and project manager on key pursuits.
Develop and execute pursuit strategies to increase market share across TxDOT’s pipeline of opportunities and coordinates pursuits among different disciplines.
Monitor client satisfaction and addresses performance issues.
Ensure TxDOT continues to be a sustainable source of repeat business.
Work with Regional Business Line Leader and Growth lead for Gulf Coast, Division Managers, and TxDOT Deputy CAMs on development of sales, strategies and opportunities.
Develops and executes a TxDOT-focused conference plan. Maintain a high profile with TxDOT and the Texas transportation industry. Attend conferences and workshops to strengthen existing TxDOT relationships and establish new TxDOT relationships.
Has a keen understanding of industry trends and market drivers.
Provides leadership in recruiting, training, and retaining top talent for TxDOT opportunities and projects.
Key performance indicators for this role include client satisfaction survey responses, Net Service Revenue (NSR) wins, NSR bookings, and NSR delivered.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in business development, and strong existing relationships with TxDOT
Existing relationships within the transportation community in Texas, and active involvement in relevant professional organizations
Strategy development and implementation of tactics
Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Strong understanding of the TxDOT program, procurement process, consultant industry and best practices in capture process for professional services
