Account Executive, New England Academic

10x Genomics is a public life sciences technology company focused on enabling discoveries in single cell and spatial biology. We are seeking a field-based Account Executive for New England Academic to drive adoption and consumables utilization across our Chromium, Visium, and Xenium franchises at top-tier academic and government accounts in Massachusetts. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of single cell and spatial profiling with strong account relationships and proven territory planning and sales execution skills.

Skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of single cell and spatial biology platforms
  • 6-8 years sales experience in life sciences selling capital and consumables
  • Proven history of relationships with academic and research thought leaders
  • Territory planning, pipeline management, and accurate sales forecasting
  • Consultative selling, prospecting, and closing skills
  • Proficiency with CRM and other sales tools
  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites as required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans to meet or exceed business goals
  • Provide consultative technical guidance on single cell and spatial profiling solutions
  • Manage full sales cycle: prospecting, pipeline management, forecasting, and closing using CRM
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key thought leaders and decision-makers
  • Stay current on market trends, research needs, and competitive landscape to identify leads
  • Coordinate with internal sales, support, and technical teams to drive customer success
  • Support post-purchase adoption and consumables utilization and identify future opportunities
  • Commit to rigorous business planning and timely, accurate sales forecasting
  • Maintain deep product and market knowledge to effectively compete in the assigned territory

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field or equivalent experience
  • Masters or PhD in a related field preferred
