Skills
- Proficiency in PHP for scripting and automation
- Production experience with large-scale distributed systems and control plane infrastructure
- Strong background in hypervisor technologies: libvirt, QEMU, KVM
- Linux systems administration at scale
- Networking expertise with BGP and Open vSwitch (OVS) and related automation
- Observability and incident management using Grafana, Sentry, SumoLogic or similar
- CI/CD pipeline experience (GitLab) and configuration management with Puppet
- Familiarity with MySQL or similar databases and their operational considerations
- Advanced troubleshooting across compute, network, and storage subsystems
Responsibilities
- Operate and scale the production control plane across global datacenters ensuring availability, correctness, and performance
- Design, implement, and maintain automation for hypervisor fleets (KVM/QEMU/libvirt) and supporting infrastructure
- Develop tooling and automation for networking (Open vSwitch, BGP) to enable resilient, self-healing operations
- Analyze and tune performance across compute, storage, and network layers to reduce toil and eliminate single points of failure
- Implement and maintain observability: monitoring, logging, and tracing (Grafana, Sentry, SumoLogic)
- Lead incident response, coordinate postmortems, and drive continuous improvement
- Maintain and evolve CI/CD pipelines and configuration management (GitLab CI/CD, Puppet)
- Produce runbooks, operational documentation, and standards for run-time operations
- Coach and mentor engineers on SRE best practices, incident handling, and low-level systems debugging
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
- Relevant certifications or industry training considered a plus
