Platform Design Engineer (UX)
Skills
- Expert-level React and TypeScript for building modern UI applications
- Advanced CSS skills, including responsive design and utility frameworks (e.g., Tailwind, Lightning CSS)
- Experience contributing to or maintaining component libraries and design systems (Storybook, Chromatic)
- Proficiency with design tools and handoff workflows (Figma, Sketch)
- Familiarity with frontend testing and CI/CD (Jest, Playwright, React Testing Library, GitLab CI)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with product and design partners
- Attention to detail and an eye for motion and microinteraction design
Responsibilities
- Partner with designers to implement strategic UX overhauls and cross-product interaction patterns.
- Build, maintain, and document reusable components and foundational design patterns for the internal design system.
- Prototype north-star concepts in Figma and code to validate future directions.
- Triage, prioritize, and rapidly fix UX polish items, small enhancements, and customer-reported bugs.
- Add microinteractions and visual polish to elevate core workflows and components.
- Ensure components are performant, accessible, and scalable for use across multiple product teams.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Portfolio or work samples demonstrating translation of design to production code
