Software Reliability Engineer
Skills
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript proficiency with live debugging experience
- Experience investigating and stabilizing distributed/microservice systems
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, BigQuery, MongoDB)
- Working knowledge of Azure or GCP environments
- Experience with observability and APM tools (Dynatrace, Azure Application Insights, Datadog, OpenTelemetry)
- Ability to write automated tests using Jest, Cypress, or Playwright
- Excellent communication and incident documentation skills
Responsibilities
- Lead incident response to rapidly diagnose and resolve production P0/P1 issues across distributed systems
- Use observability tools (Dynatrace, Azure Application Insights) to pinpoint root causes and verify fixes
- Trace issues across APIs, microservices, and data layers in low-documentation environments
- Write and execute targeted automated tests (Jest, Cypress, Playwright) to confirm resolutions and prevent regressions
- Communicate root causes and resolution plans clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate with platform and DevOps teams to improve monitoring, alerting, and deployment practices
- Participate in on-call escalation rotations and post-incident reviews to drive long-term stability improvements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Relevant coursework or certifications in systems, distributed systems, or software engineering preferred
