Skills
- Strong C++ and Python programming in resource-constrained, real-time contexts
- Experience designing and deploying motion planning or decision-making for robotics/vehicles
- Familiarity with classical planning techniques (graph/tree search, optimization, ranking) under uncertainty
- Ability to develop cost functions for collision avoidance, ride quality, and rule adherence
- Integrating ML-based planning with heuristic and safety-critical components in production
- Experience with unit testing, simulation, log-simulation, and validation workflows
- Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and own motion planning modules that produce safe, smooth trajectories meeting product and controls requirements
- Collaborate with perception, localization, controls, verification, and systems engineering to ensure robust inputs and validated outputs
- Develop and maintain unit tests, simulation validation, and log-based testing to ensure safety and prevent regressions
- Contribute to technical direction, roadmap decisions, and cross-functional prioritization for vehicle behaviors
- Identify performance bottlenecks and innovate algorithmic solutions to improve reliability and capability
- Participate in experimentation, design iterations, and stakeholder communication to align product goals
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred for research-heavy roles but not required
