Director of Foreign Military Sales

TurbineOne is a venture-backed defense tech startup building an edge AI platform deployed across U.S. forces. We seek an experienced Director of Foreign Military Sales to lead international defense engagement, manage FMS/DCS pipelines, coordinate export-compliant fielding, and build partnerships with allied militaries and prime contractors.

Skills

  • Deep knowledge of DSCA processes, FMS case management, ITAR and EAR requirements
  • Experience selling or exporting defense technology—software, AI/ML, ISR—or related systems
  • Proven ability to engage senior military and government stakeholders and brief leadership
  • Program capture and contract negotiation skills, including pricing for government customers
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver exportable configurations and field trials
  • Strong risk management and export compliance judgment

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute FMS and DCS strategy, identifying allied demand and structuring country-specific approaches.
  • Engage with DSCA, SAF/IA, USASAC, NAVSUP, foreign procurement offices, and defense attachés to advance cases.
  • Manage opportunity pipelines from engagement through Letter of Request (LOR), LOA, and case implementation.
  • Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Operations to define exportable system configurations and licensing.
  • Support capture and program execution: proposals, pricing, contract negotiation, delivery oversight, and sustainment.
  • Advise leadership on ITAR/EAR, export compliance, and risk management for international technology transfer.
  • Build partnerships with primes, integrators, and in-country reps to accelerate fielding and long-term sustainment.
  • Represent TurbineOne at international defense events, embassy engagements, and allied briefings.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., international relations, engineering, business) preferred
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MPP, MS) or equivalent experience is a plus
