Skills
- Fundamental dynamics and vibration analysis skills
- Frequency-domain signal processing and data analysis
- Finite element modeling and coupled loads experience
- Experience with vibration and shock testing and sensor instrumentation
- Ability to read structural drawings and translate test results into design guidance
- Proficiency coding for analysis automation (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar)
Responsibilities
- Resolve dynamics problems through analysis and test
- Plan and execute dynamic testing end-to-end: pre-test analysis, sensor selection & installation, data collection, signal processing, and model correlation
- Develop finite element models and perform coupled loads analysis for launch and on-orbit environments
- Run analyses using commercial and in-house codes and contribute new code as needed
- Perform related analyses (satellite dispense, on-orbit jitter, fatigue, shock, transportation loads)
- Collaborate with Starshield responsible engineers and Falcon dynamics team to inform hardware and mission design decisions
Education
- Bachelor's degree in physics, mathematics, or an engineering discipline (required)
