Skills
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial electronics
- Data acquisition hardware design, installation, and troubleshooting
- Wiring, panel builds, and connectorization to IPC-620, D38999 or equivalent standards
- Familiarity with industrial bus protocols: Modbus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP
- PID tuning and analog control systems experience
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E electrical codes and hazardous-area installations
- Basic CAD and electrical schematic reading/creation
- Exposure to programming/scripting (C/C++, Python) for integration and diagnostics
- Ability to work at heights and perform physically demanding tasks in varied environmental conditions
- ITAR-eligible status (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) as required
Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and commission control panels, PLCs, data acquisition systems, sensors, and related hardware
- Troubleshoot and repair existing control and voltage-level electrical systems to improve long-term reliability
- Develop and upgrade data acquisition and control systems, including hardware builds and drawing updates
- Provide technical guidance to controls technicians and non-controls engineering teams
- Lead technician shifts and coordinate contractors to execute tasks efficiently and safely
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate hardware with control and test software
- Analyze operational data to assess system function and recommend improvements
- Assist with detailed electrical schematics and CAD modeling of electrical conveyances
- Follow and contribute to high-reliability processes and documentation practices
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Occupational trade school qualification in instrumentation or electrical field (preferred)
- Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, instrumentation, or related field (preferred)
