Operations Specialist

We are seeking a resourceful, research-driven Sales Operations Specialist who can handle lead generation, competitive market research, and problem-solving tasks to support the sales teams and business development efforts of Bright Event Rentals’ Southern California region (San Diego and surrounding areas). This person will be responsible for building targeted lead lists, identifying new business opportunities, and performing competitor pricing research—including “secret shopping” to gather firsthand insights on how other rental providers price and package similar services. The ideal candidate is proactive, enjoys intellectual challenges, and thrives on independent problem-solving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Location: Fully-Remote (Work from Home), 9 AM - 5 PM PST

A leading event rental business with a nationwide presence, specializing in providing high-quality rental equipment for events, including tables, chairs, dishware, tents, furniture, lighting, and more. The company operates in multiple major U.S. markets and is expanding its reach by enhancing its sales and lead generation efforts. The company is looking for a Sales Operations Specialist to streamline internal processes and support business development across various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and build targeted lead lists for multiple markets using tools like Apollo.io and other AI-driven web scrapers.

  • Gather valuable contact information from various industries including event planners, corporate clients, educational institutions, caterers, and more.

  • Leverage CRM tools like Salesforce to maintain lead data and support lead qualifying.

  • Conduct deep market research to identify key business opportunities, events, and other verticals where event rental services may be required.

  • Conduct in-depth competitor analysis, including online research and “secret shopping” to compare pricing, product offerings, and customer experience across event rental providers. Use this data to support strategic pricing decisions and identify Bright’s market positioning opportunities.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure targeted and accurate lead generation efforts for all locations.

  • Work closely with the sales team to identify leads and prospects that have high potential for new business.

  • Solve open-ended business problems—such as identifying untapped lead sources, investigating drops in lead quality, or sourcing niche market data—by leveraging online research, AI tools, and sound logic.

  • Identify the tech stack and resources required for the effective execution of business operations.

  • Manage and track lead generation results to ensure that the business development teams receive well-targeted and actionable leads.

  • Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing internal operations and processes.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in operations, lead generation, data scraping, or similar roles.

  • Proficiency with lead generation tools like Apollo.io, ZoomInfo, Cognism, Clay, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other similar platforms.

  • Strong ability to conduct detailed research and generate high-quality lead lists tailored to different markets and customer needs.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems to maintain and track leads.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate and resolve complex issues through research and logic.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects at once.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in the event rental industry or related sectors (e.g., event planning, corporate events, weddings).

  • Experience with the Southern California market.

  • Prior experience working with offshore teams or in a remote-first environment.

  • Knowledge of sales operations and how to optimize lead generation and sales processes.
