Skills
- Proven architecture design for highly available, scalable systems (APIs, messaging, UIs, databases)
- Hands-on experience with at least one language (Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript)
- Strong cloud and platform knowledge (designing for AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Deep understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD, TDD, and modern deployment practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication with ability to simplify complex technical ideas
- Client-facing experience in pre-sales, technical consulting, or solution architecture
Responsibilities
- Lead technical solutioning sessions to translate mission needs into architectures and delivery plans
- Scope engagements and define delivery approaches aligned to Rise8's agile software model
- Conduct technical assessments across applications, platforms, and data environments
- Facilitate workshops and design sprints to capture requirements and align stakeholders
- Write and review technical proposal sections, including architectures and implementation plans
- Build prototypes, demos, and code samples to validate concepts and demonstrate feasibility
- Present in orals, coding challenges, and customer discussions to establish technical credibility
- Advise clients on cloud platforms, scalability, resilience, and security best practices
- Collaborate with Growth, Product, and Engineering to craft holistic solution narratives
- Support technical hiring, mentorship, and continuous improvement of engineering practices
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
- U.S. citizenship required and ability to complete a government background investigation
