Director, Market Development

Who we are

REGENXBIO is an exceptional place to work. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the best and the brightest people, touch amazing science, and be a part of extraordinary plans. Our core values: Trust, Accountability, Perseverance, and Innovation drive everything we do. We aim to bring these values to life every day with all that we do, and we believe that what we do matters - to patients, to their families, and to their communities.

The opportunity

As a Director, Market Development, you will drive regional strategy and commercial launch readiness in support of our innovative therapies for rare and neuromuscular diseases. In this field-based leadership role, you'll lead strategic engagement with key stakeholders and treatment centers, ensuring regional alignment with REGENXBIO's broader go-to-market objectives. As a vital connection between internal teams, including Sales, Medical Affairs, Patient Services, Advocacy, Marketing, and Market Access—and external ecosystem partners, you'll shape and execute regional strategies that support treatment access and long-term market development for REGENXBIO's products.

What you'll be doing
  • Develop and execute targeted engagement strategies for key accounts in assigned regions.
  • Establish REGENXBIO as a trusted partner in the neuromuscular and rare disease communities.
  • Lead regional business planning aligned with corporate goals and cross-functional priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to synthesize customer insights, inform strategic decisions, and optimize messaging and programs.
  • Ensure adequate resource allocation to drive regional business success.
  • Identify, educate and align thought leaders to our strategic imperatives while being accountable for pulling through brand initiatives with the thought leaders.
  • Profile treatment centers to assess readiness, patient care models, referral patterns, and logistical infrastructure.
  • Deliver education on REGENXBIO’s products, and tend to end treatment administration logistics.
  • Identify and address barriers to care, including infusion capacity, billing/coding challenges, and payer dynamics.
  • Support reimbursement readiness and validate regional processes for market access.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships and referral networks to support launch and market expansion.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure launch execution quality and speed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned treatment centers, experts, and stakeholders.
  • Drive brand awareness, engagement, and treatment adoption through innovative commercial strategies.
  • Monitor regional trends in the competitive, regulatory, and payer landscapes to inform strategy.
  • Champion a customer-first mindset and ensure execution reflects the needs of patients and providers.
  • It is imperative that REGENXBIO employees embody our core values by working collaboratively, building strong relationships and using clear communication to meet shared objectives.

What we’re looking for
  • Minimum of 5+ years in a commercial, market development, or strategic customer engagement role within biotech/pharma.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (BA/BS); advanced degree (MBA, PhD, PharmD) strongly preferred
  • Proven track record in the rare disease space, ideally including neuromuscular indications.
  • Experience supporting new product launches in complex therapeutic areas.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. healthcare dynamics, market access, and reimbursement pathways.
  • Familiarity with account-based models and stakeholder mapping in specialty care.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to extract insights from data and apply them to commercial decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align cross-functional teams toward shared goals.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and a mission-driven approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 60% for stakeholder engagements.
