Senior Mechanical Engineer
Skills
- Mechanical design and strong mechanical aptitude including dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with industrial-scale manufacturing equipment and automation
- Project management and capital acquisition experience
- Structured approach to data collection, statistical analysis, and reporting
- Technical writing and development of SOPs and validation documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and 3D CAD/solid modeling tools
Responsibilities
- Lead specification, procurement, and implementation of capital equipment across multiple manufacturing lines
- Design tooling, fixtures, and equipment interfaces for production
- Review and provide input on new process and equipment designs
- Partner with mechanical development to transition new processes and equipment into manufacturing
- Create and maintain process work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Train manufacturing personnel on new processes and equipment
- Analyze production/process data and drive improvements to safety, quality, and cost
- Troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment issues
- Identify and execute continuous improvement projects and capital validations
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline (preferred)
- Technical certifications or equivalent experience in manufacturing/industrial engineering are a plus
